Trump Complains That Both Parties Are Against Him

With many Republicans as well as Democrats opposing his presidential bid, Donald Trump pointed out Thursday that it is “like I’m running against two parties.”

The apparent GOP nominee told radio host Mike Gallagher: “When you have guys like Bill Kristol, who has been calling it wrong on me for two years; when you have all these guys ….” Newsmax explained that Kristol, a political commentator and editor of the conservative Weekly Standard, is among the establishment Republicans who would prefer a different candidate to take on Democrat Hillary Clinton in November’s general election.

Trump is upset that some of his former rivals for the Republican nomination, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, are refusing to support his campaign. Many GOP party officials also have been reluctant to back the billionaire businessman.

“It was a rough primary, and they got beat up, but they went after me, too,” Trump said. “We beat them up and now they don’t want to endorse. … I'm not sure it matters, because I think we're going to win. The people are so fed up with politics and politicians, but I think I'm going to win either way.”

The candidate created more controversy during a speech in New Hampshire on Tuesday. As a plane flew overhead, he remarked: “That could be a Mexican plane. They’re getting ready to attack.” Trump frequently lashes out at the government and people of Mexico. He has called immigrants from the country “killers” and “rapists.”
