Trump Blames Shooting Massacres on Obama, Clinton

President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton share some of the responsibility for the spike in mass killings, according to Donald Trump.

“Look what is happening to our country under the WEAK leadership of Obama and people like crooked Hillary Clinton,” the presumptive Republican presidential nominee declared Sunday on Twitter. “We are a divided nation!”

The Hill pointed out that it was not the first time Trump has blasted the two Democrats. He leveled his latest attack following last week’s mass shooting in Dallas, Texas, that killed five law-enforcement officers and injured seven others. The massacre took place during a demonstration denouncing the recent killings of two African-American men, Philando Castile of Minnesota and Alton Sterling of Louisiana, by white policemen.

Cameras recorded both shootings, allowing millions of people to witness the incidents on social media. The protest in Dallas was one of many such events that outraged people organized throughout the country. According to CNN, House Speaker Paul Ryan remarked Friday: “This has been a long week for our country. It’s been a long month for America. We have seen terrible, terrible, senseless things.”

Democrats are demanding more stringent gun-control measures. “When people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately, it makes attacks like these more deadly and more tragic,” Obama said Friday.
