Trump’s Sons Accuse Cruz Of Bribing GOP Delegates

Ted Cruz is engaging in “bribery” by urging Donald Trump delegates to shift their allegiances to the Texas senator at the Republican national convention in July, according to Trump’s sons.

If the billionaire businessman does not have the support of 1,237 delegates in the first round of balloting, the resulting open convention could enable Cruz or another contender to become the party’s nominee in November’s general election.

Trump’s sons alleged on Fox News that the Cruz campaign is employing unfair tactics to make that happen, Newsmax reported. “Bribing them. It’s bribery,” Donald Trump Jr. told show host Sean Hannity. “If we did that in business, you go to jail. How does it work in politics?”

Eric Trump added: “It’s a crooked system. Look at Arizona. People are waiting in line for three or four hours in order to vote. So then you tell them that that vote meant nothing and they were just suggesting a candidate? Their vote didn’t count for anything; it was more of a suggestion than anything? That doesn’t work. That’s not democracy in play. Why go through this process if that’s going to happen? Why get people so vested if you are going to say … ‘We were just kidding?’ Sean, your vote doesn’t matter. It’s crazy. You are going to disenfranchise so many voters.”

Donald Trump is also lashing out at the Republican National Committee’s delegate-selection process. The real-estate mogul argues that his delegate total does not fully represent the number of votes he has received in the primaries and caucuses.
