Ted Cruz: Candidates Need To Deliver More Action, Less Hot Air

During the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) held last week, Senator Ted Cruz challenged conservative activists to pass judgment on him, as well as his possible competition in 2016, by their actions rather than their words

Cruz began his speech with a few jokes and entered the stage to “Wave on Wave” by Texan Pat Green. The attendees at CPAC are going to play a significant role in selecting the 2016 nominee for the Republican Party according to Cruz. However, the important issue is how to begin differentiating between all the candidates, since none of them are going to attend the CPAC and claim they are moderate.

He continued to state that in order to differentiate between the candidates and determine who the real conservatives are, you have to judge them on their actions, rather than the speeches they give. If a candidate is truly a conservative, they will have proof that they have fought this fight. Cruz also stated that just standing up against the Democratic party is not enough, they also have to be willing to stand against other Republicans.

In regard to the political atmosphere present today, Cruz stated that the largest divide was not the one between the Republicans and Democrats, but rather between the American people and the Washington career politicians.
