Breaking: News About Shocking Thing Bannon Did Before Trump Won Revealed

Steve Bannon may have spent his time in the White House doing more than a few sneaky things.

According to a plot uncovered by BuzzFeed, the President's former White House Chief Strategist was about to try to infiltrate Facebook. Emails uncovered between Steve Bannon and a conservative Washington operative discussed sending moles in undercover to apply for key positions in the company with the intention of gathering 'intel'.

Chris Gacek of the Family Research Council, a former congressional staffer, exchanged the emails with Bannon in August of 2016, just before President Donald Trump named Bannon his Chief Strategist. Gacek approached Bannon and said that job openings were listed on LinkedIn for Facebook's "What's APP' division.

“This seems perfect for Breitbart to flood the zone with candidates of all stripe who will report back to you / Milo with INTEL about the job application process over at FB," Gacek said to Bannon, who was the executive chairman of Breitbart News.

The 'Milo' he refers to is Milo Yiannopoulous, who was, at the time, the Breitbart News Tech Editor. Yiannopoulous has been involved in a number of controversies this year, including being the subject of riots at UC Berkeley in California. Students didn't want the extreme conservative giving a speech at the campus. After someone dragged up a speech in which Yiannopoulous made comments about dating an adult man at age 13, and that he thought some minors understand what they're getting into when they choose a sexual relationship with an adult, he was forced to resign from the conservative media group.

The WhatsApp job was for developing global policy strategy and representing the company in 'meetings with government officials and elected members'.

Bannon forwarded to the email to Yiannopoulos later that day and asked, “Can u get on this?”

Yiannopoulos forwarded the request to researchers, saying, “Seems difficult [sic] to do quietly without them becoming aware of efforts.”

On August 17, Bannon resigned to go work with Trump, and Yiannopoulos left in February.

Facebook has proven to have powerful pull in the media, particularly when it comes to politics.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, the company sold ads to Russian-linked accounts that were later found to be part of a propaganda plot. CEO Mark Zuckerberg turned over some 3,000 as to special counsel Robert Mueller, the investigator who is looking into whether or not the Russians tampered with the election, or colluded with Trump's team.

According to Zuckerberg, who has strong liberal opinions, Facebook is working on strengthening their ad review process.

Zuckerberg has been accused in the past by his own employees of ordering liberal news stories and media to be promoted on Facebook at a much higher rate than conservative news and stories. While Facebook was unable to bring about the outcome that liberals and progressives desired and expected in the 2016 election, no one is underestimating the power that the media platform holds in shaping public opinions.

In order to thwart criticism for attempting to censor conservative news stories, Zuckerberg met with prominent conservatives and has made an effort to hire more conservative employees.
