Shocking News About What Clinton Did For 600 Hours During Campaign Revealed

Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has spent an inordinate amount of time explaining ‘what happened,’ but many of the answers to that question have been staring her in the face the whole time. Unfortunately, those answers don’t appear on her lengthy list while she’s out promoting her book. We have another one for her to add to the list: horrible time management.

As Us shares, Hillary Clinton estimates that she spent an ungodly amount of time having her hair and makeup done while she was running for the highest office in the land.

“I’ve never gotten used to how much effort it takes just to be a woman in the public eye. I once calculated how many hours I spent having my hair and makeup done during the campaign,” she wrote. “It came to about 600 hours, or 25 days. I was so shocked, I checked the math twice."

We’re not going to throw stones about her feeling the need to look her best. Politics is a very visual sport. We get that. However, 600 hours? Are you serious? That’s 25 entire days! Did it ever cross her mind that amount of time may have been overkill? It doesn’t sound like it.

“I’m not jealous of my male colleagues often, but I am when it comes to how they can just shower, shave, put on a suit, and be ready to go. The few times I’ve gone out in public without makeup, it’s made the news,” Clinton said.

The latter part of that statement is a fair point. There have been plenty of unnecessary potshots taken at her over her appearance, so we can certainly understand it being a sore spot for her. However, there’s something to be said for maximizing your time on the trail. Don’t you suppose there was a lot more that could’ve been done if that time was at least cut in half?

"So I sigh, and keep getting back in that chair, and dream of a future in which women in the public eye don't need to wear makeup if they don't want to, and no one cares either way," she continues.

We agree with her on that point, but isn’t she kind of feeding into that by spending such an inordinate amount of time getting ready? Gratuitous amounts of makeup and applying the equivalent of rubber cement to the hair are not necessary for one to look their best. There’s a lot to be said for understated elegance as well, and the confidence to pull that off will say more to those you come into contact with than hours spent behind a mirror will.

All that said, the bigger point is the amount of time that was spent here. Clinton’s braintrust ran a flawed campaign, and this is another sign of mismanagement. If she had 300 of those hours back, they may have been able to fit in some more stops in the so-called flyover states. If they had done that, she may not be touring the country attempting to explain what happened right about now.
