Several Republicans Ask John Kasich To Quit The Race

Recently, Rich Lowry, editor of National Review wrote that Kasich's campaign is a "delusional vanity project masquerading as a presidential campaign." Yet, John Kasich continues to campaign in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

Former Mitt Romney spokesman, Ryan Williams, said, "This is not a campaign run by self-aware people who understand what's happening in the Republican party, or who know how match works."

Republican Rep. Matt Salmon from Arizona told The Hill, "He's now a spoiler." Based on the current primary wins tally, Kasich has no mathematical chance to win the number of delegates necessary to gain the nomination outright. He has only won his home state of Ohio. Although, his followers believe he is a more viable candidate than Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. They believe Kasich can help keep Trump from gaining the nomination.

On NBC's "Meet the Press" Kasich said, "Let them consolidate behind me. I'm the one that can win in the fall." In fact, Kasich's campaign Spokesman Mike Schrimpf sees a path to win in Wisconsin. In addition, a poll of political insiders told Politico that Kasich could win in a contested convention. Both Cruz and Kasich's campaigns say a vote for the other is a vote for Trump.

American Principles Project founder Frank Cannon said, "He's an institutional, traditional Republican insider-type who represents exactly what the voters are rejecting this election cycle."

Kasich's supporters are hoping he'll win a contested convention.
