Sanders: Trump Is The Reason People Are So 'Angry And Want Real Change In This Country'

Reaction has been quick to come in from all sides over the release of portions of Donald Trump’s 1995 tax return, which has pointed to the possibility that he avoided paying federal taxes for some time. As CNN reports, one of those that weighed in was former Democratic nominee Bernie Sanders.

Sanders was a guest on the network’s “State of the Union” program, and the topic would quickly turn to Trump’s taxes.

"You've got some middle class people working longer hours for lower wages -- they pay their taxes, they support their schools, they support their infrastructure, they support the military. But the billionaires? No, they don't have to do that, because they have their friends on Capitol Hill. They pay zero in taxes," he said.

He would go on to explain that this is just part of what’s broken within the country, and that’s what’s led for so many to call for real changes.

"So Trump goes around and says, 'Hey, I'm worth billions, I'm a successful businessman. But I don't pay any taxes. But you, you make $15 an hour? You pay the taxes, not me,' That is why people are angry and want real change in this country," Sanders continued.
