Sanders Drops Bombshell Quote In Support Of Trump, Democrats Dumbfounded

Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders can to the defense of Trump supporters at a Boston rally. His comments didn't sit well with a lot of Democrats. His charm appears to be wearing off.

If there is one thing that Democrats love to do since the presidential election, it's to villanize Trump voters. This is probably why it didn't sit well when Sen. Bernie Sanders disagreed. Speaking at a rally for Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Sanders said, "Some people think that the people who voted for Trump are racists and sexists and homophobes and deplorable folks. I don't agree, because I've been there."

"Let me tell you something else some of you might not agree with, it wasn't that Donald Trump won the election, it was that the Democratic Party lost the election," Sanders continued, nothing that there needed to be a 'fundamental restructuring of the Democratic party'.

Sanders says many people turned to supporting Trump because of the Democratic Party's failures. "We need a Democratic Party that is not a party of the liberal elite but of the working class of this country, we need a party that is a grassroots party, where candidates are talking to working people not spending their time raising money for the wealthy and the powerful," Sanders said. "And when we do that, when we transform the Democratic Party, we transform America."

Notably, Sanders points out Wall Street, fossil fuel and pharmaceutical industries as enemies. The speech to keep pushing a progressive agenda didn't sit well with a lot of Democrats.

"Sen. Sanders coddling of trump voters is not going to help them to accept that longing for the past prepares no one for the future," said one Twitter user.

"Bernie Sanders is defending Trump supporters but he's bashing Democrats supporters!? Pay attention, this man is plant who's not our friend," said another.

Bernie Sanders has repeatedly billed himself as a ‘Socialist Democrat’, and even for his own party his views are often seen as extreme.
