Rudy Giuliani Blames Baltimore Riots On Decades Of Liberal Rule

Rudolph Giuliani recently said that three decades of liberal Democrats running Baltimore has done little to help impoverished minorities.

Appearing Tuesday on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," Giuliani said he was able to bring communities such as Washington Heights back to prosperity after a riot in 1992 and blackout in 1999.

He said, "That community went from being very high crime community to being a good community. I would ask all those politicians you saw there talking about the terrible conditions, economic conditions, they have been in charge of Baltimore for the last 30 years. This is a Democratic city."

Possible presidential candidate and Democrat Martin O'Malley was governor for eight years and mayor of Baltimore for eight years before that.

Giuliani went on to say "If those people are suffering from economic deprivation, then what the heck have they done? What has (Rep.) Elijah Cummings done for his city? … What kind of economic development have they done?” Democrats are blaming the tensions on systemic racism and poverty. Giuliani said the problems were due to leaders who "don't do anything about the schools, let the teachers union push you around so you can't have vouchers, don't support charter schools, don't move people off welfare."
