Rubio Threatens Trump’s Lead in New Hampshire

Donald Trump continues to lead the Republican presidential race in New Hampshire, but Marco Rubio is gaining on him, Breitbart News reported.

On Wednesday, a poll of the state’s GOP voters found that the Florida senator had climbed into second place by moving up seven percentage points in just two days. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who won the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 1, picked up two points to land in third place. Trump’s support declined by 2 percent during the same period.

In the survey, conducted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell, 41 percent of respondents said they might change their minds about which candidate to support before they go to the polls Tuesday.

It appears that the battle in New Hampshire will come down to a three-man contest, according to Breitbart. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ohio Gov. John Kasich have been getting less than 10 percent support in Granite State polls. Each of them lost one or two percentage points in the survey released Wednesday.

The poll found that the demographic groups most likely to back Trump are men, voters with annual incomes of less than $50,000, those whose education has not extended beyond high school, and self-described “moderates.” New Hampshire Republicans who graduated from college are evenly split among Trump, Cruz and Rubio.
