Romney Will Fight Evander Holyfield In Celebrity Boxing Match

If you've heard that Mitt Romney will take part in a celebrity boxing match but blew it off as a false story, you would be wrong.

In fact, the former presidential candidate is scheduled to box four-time World Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield to raise money for charity. The match is scheduled to take place on May 15 in Salt Lake City.

Proceeds will go to Charity Vision, a charity group that the Romney family has contributed to and worked with for years. In fact, Romney recently traveled with the group to India. The group is known for providing medical gear to poor nations around the world and assisting with eye surgeries.

Bill Jackson, who founded Charity Vision, is also a Mormon like Romney. When asked about the fight Romney said, “It will either be a very short fight or I will be knocked unconscious. It won’t be much of a fight. We’ll both suit up and get in the ring and spar around a little bit." Evander Holyfield said, "I had my ear chewed off and spat on the ground in front of me. I’ve seen everything it is possible to see in boxing. I know this business better than anyone. So I live and die by my own decisions."
