Police Shocked By What Liberal Left Inside Republican's Office After Break In

Dean Heller, a Republican Senator from Nevada, recently received a death threat, instructing him to vote against President Trump’s flagship healthcare bill. The threat of assassination was delivered via an anonymous note left on a desk in Senator Heller’s Las Vegas office. According to investigating authorities, the “threatening” note was placed in the office over the weekend.

Senator Heller has been hailed as a critical swing vote for the GOP’s healthcare bill. At this stage, details about the note’s contents are scarce. Joe Ralston, a reporter for the Nevada Independent, has released more specific information about the note, writing: “A note taped to Sen. Dean Heller’s campaign office was from someone asserting that he would lose his health care if the key senator voted for the repeal bill and that he would die if that happened and would take Heller with him, a law enforcement source said.”

Observers are already theorizing that the note’s sender had decided to take action because of the severe Medicaid cuts in the GOP’s new healthcare bill. In Nevada alone, 600,000 Americans rely on Medicaid to help pay their health expenses.

According to the Las Vegas Police Department, officers were dispatched to Senator Heller’s public office after a burglary alarm was triggered. Police officers verified that while no break-in had occurred, there was evidence of someone loitering near the office. A statement released by the Las Vegas Police Department expanded on the confusing incident description, with a department spokesperson saying: "However, a threatening note addressed to Senator Heller was discovered near the door to his office."

A spokeswoman for Senator Heller, Megan Taylor, had previously confirmed that there was a break-in, seemingly contradicting the official reports from the Las Vegas Police Department. Ms. Taylor has not given any more information about the incident, citing the secrecy of the ongoing investigation.

Before the legislation fell apart, Senator Heller had condemned the healthcare bill and its dramatic cuts to Medicaid, saying: “I cannot support a piece of legislation that takes insurance away from tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Nevadans.” However, with pressure from both sides of the aisle, Senator Heller, who opposed the previous version of the bill, chose to vote alongside his fellow GOP Senators, unfazed by the threats against his life.

Despite his change of heart, Senator Heller was unable to stop the failure of Trump’s landmark healthcare bill. When four GOP Senators, Jerry Moran, Mike Lee, Susan Collins and Rand Paul, announced that they would oppose the Republican legislation, the House Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, was forced to cancel the GOP’s healthcare bill.

Unsurprisingly, President Trump slammed the failure on social media, tweeting: “We were let down by all of the Democrats and a few Republicans. Most Republicans were loyal, terrific & worked really hard. We will return!” and "With only a very small majority, the Republicans in the House & Senate need more victories next year since Dems totally obstruct, no votes!"
