Rand Paul Explains His Recent Problems With Female Journalists

Recently, questions have surfaced regarding whether presidential candidate, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, has a bit of a temper.

Earlier this month, Paul interrupted "Today" host Savannah Guthrie when she reiterated how his positions on Israel and Iran had changed. Paul then accused her of editorializing and said "Let me finish. Hey, hey, hey, let me finish, hey Kelly, hey, hey, shhh. Quiet, calm down a bit here, Kelly. Let me answer the question."

In his defense, Paul told CNN "I think if you're forthright and answer a lot of questions, sometimes you'll get people who won't let you answer the questions and that makes for a difficult answer." In an interview with Iowa talk radio show host Simon Conway, Paul stated:

"Really, the problem is that we have a lot of media that are just so far on the left that we just don’t have any neutral questions. If you go on there as a Democrat, they laugh and yuck it up and, you know, talk about how great things are going and, but it’s a little bit different when Republicans are on the national news. The kind of funny thing about it is that it’s kind of a sexist position to think that somehow women announcers are less capable to handle themselves than men. I don’t think that, but everybody that was complaining about it, thinking it had something to do with gender, basically, that’s insulting to the people doing the questioning."
