President Trump's First Check-Up in Office Is Coming Up, But Will the President Get a Clean Bill of Health?

It's time for President Donald Trump to get his annual physical, which the White House says is scheduled for January 12. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the president's press secretary, says the POTUS is slated to be examined at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland by White House physician Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson.

Some are wondering if Trump's weight or recent odd behavior might reveal a problem. Last year, when Trump released a letter from his personal physician during the election, Dr. Harold Bornstein said that if Trump were elected, "I can state unequivocally, [he] will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency."

That's an odd claim, considering the candidate had a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 29.5. Trump weighed in at 236 pounds at the time, and rumor had it that he was making some really poor eating choices.

Corey Lewandowski, Trump's former campaign manager, wrote in his book that fast food was very common on the campaign trail because there wasn't too much time to grab anything else. Lewandowski said Trump would order two Big Macs, two Filet-o-Fish sandwiches and a chocolate milkshake from MacDonald’s to keep up his energy while campaigning.

Lewandowski said Trump didn't eat the buns, but that's still a lot of fat and sugar for one meal.

On one Twitter picture the president Tweeted, he was about to chow down on a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. According to White House rumors, he drinks about a dozen Diet Cokes per day. For a 71-year-old man, this isn't the healthiest diet.

Some have worried about Trump's mental faculties more than his weight. He's the oldest person to ever be elected to the office for the first term. Some people have been pointing out the odd way Trump has been drinking water, using two hands like a small child would hold a cup.

Others point to the fact that President Trump began slurring his words at the end of a speech in which he announced the U.S. would be moving their embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

The White House's story was that the president's throat was dry. Others speculate that Trump is wearing dentures, and they slipped. Still, others wonder if some of his outbursts and the slurred words could reveal a more serious problem that involves the decline of his mental faculties.

Trump bragged about his health and stamina throughout the campaign, and he was constantly pointing to the poor health of his opponent, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, who came down with a persistent cough and even collapsed at one point. She released a letter from her doctor saying she was in 'excellent health' and they blamed the trouble on allergies.

Trump and his supporters were merciless in slamming Clinton, suggesting she was struggling with the start of much more serious health issues and that she wouldn't be able to handle the demanding job of president. Allegations about Trump's health could just be a turn-about for the way he mocked Clinton during the campaign.

No doubt, if the appointment goes well, Mr. Trump will probably be tweeting about it and slamming those who raised concerns about his health for listening to ‘fake news’.
