President Trump Was Caught Doing This - Can You Spot What’s Wrong In This Photo?
If you read and listen largely to liberal-leaning media that seeks to slam President Donald Trump at every turn, you probably heard that his phone call with Australian Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull was a disaster. Reports say Trump spent most of the call boasting about his electoral college votes, slamming the deal his predecessor made with Australia about taking in refugees, and that Trump promptly hung up approximately 35 minutes before the call was scheduled to end.
The Prime Minister of Australia tells a completely different story.
Malcom Turnbull was interviewed on Wednesday regarding his conversation with American President Donald Trump, and he tried to re-assure people having a melt-down over Australia-US relations that 'the call was courteous'.
According to Turnbull, despite Trump's tweets that sounded angry after the call, the two have a 'strong relationship.'
"As far as the call is concerned, I'm very disappointed that there has been a leak of purported details of the call in Washington," Turnbull said on a radio talk show on 873 AM. " But I want to make one observation about it: the report that the president hung up was not correct. The call ended courteously. And as far as the nature of the discussion, it was very frank and forthright."
The radio host also pointed out that Turnbull gave as good as he got with the outspoken American president, and he confirmed this. “I stand up for Australia in every forum - public or private.”
The phone call has been sparking absolute melt-downs by Trump opponents, who are determined to make the case that the hot-headed president is not capable of the diplomacy with foreign leaders that his job calls for. Trump's tweet after the meeting that criticized the Obama administration for making a 'dumb deal' only fanned the flames of hyperbole and outrage. Then a photo was released, where many have jumped to the conclusion that President Trump was flipping off the Australian PM.
Both parties after the call did come away stating that their interests were served, and that President Trump has vowed to adhere to America's agreements. Hopefully Prime Minister Turnbull’s side of the story will put the persistent rumors that President Trump has single-handedly destroyed US relations with Australia.
