President Trump 'Cheats Like Hell’ At Golf, Says Practice Partner

President Donald Trump has been accused of a lot of things that he doesn't like to hear.

He's been accused of lying about how much money he actually has. He's been accused of being unfaithful to his wives. He's been accused of ripping people off in business.

He's been accused of being little more than a puppet leader set up by Vladimir Putin. But of all that, this most recent accusation might cause the biggest sting: he's been accused of cheating at golf.

A decade-long acquaintance of President Trump says that the golf scores he takes pride in are fake scores. Suzann Pettersen, Norwegian golf champ and former LPGA Tour winner and frequent Trump golf partner, says that the President is a big fat cheater.

According to Pettersen, Trump doesn't even usually take his final putt, just in case he misses it. He pays caddies, she alleges, to retrieve balls he's hit into the woods and to put them back on the course.

"He cheats like hell... so I don't quite know how he is in business," she said in an interview with Verdens Gang, a Norwegian newspaper. "They say that if you cheat at golf, you cheat at business."

Trump has boasted that his golf score is 69. That's a highly respectable score, especially for someone of Trump's age. But Pettersen says she's never seen him come near that good a score in all the times she's played with him.

"He always says he is the world's best putter. But in all the times I've played him, he's never come close to breaking 80," she admits.

"But what's strange is that every time I talk to him he says he just golfed a 69, or that he set a new course record or won a club championship some place. I just laugh," she continued.

The golfer says the boastful president is obsessed with two things: golf, and himself.

"You’ll never meet another person who loves himself as much as he does," she said, "but I know how much he cares".

"He called me once a month and asked how things were going. It was always about golf," she added.

It’s not that hard to believe, even for President Trump’s supporters. Mr. Trump often likes to blow his own horn and exaggerate his own accomplishments.

He’s constantly defending everything, from the size of his crowds to the size of his hands, giving the media and his critics a lot of fodder for mocking him.

Trump takes golf seriously. He not only owns several golf resorts that he claims are the best in the world, but he's taken at least 90 golf days since he began his first term as president a year ago.

The accusation that he’s cheating on his scores and isn’t as good as he claims he is will no doubt be met with opposition from the POTUS, but this far, he hasn’t responded.

Petterson doesn't think that golf is the only topic in which the U.S. president likes to embellish.  He has repeatedly told her that his 'greatest love' was famous Norwegian businesswoman Celina Midelfart.

"He has told that same story a hundred times ... If you would ask her, the story is no doubt completely different," Pettersen said.
