People Are Angry Over These New Photos Of Ivanka In White House Meetings - See Why?

When the First Daughter Ivanka Trump sat in on a meeting last month with world leaders, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, it stirred a lot of controversy. The president got criticism with people pointing out that it looked like 'bring your daughter to work day' ads.

Now, the Trump administration has been slammed again for Ivanka's participation in a recent gathering with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. While some sneer, it appears that the situation isn't going to change. People are going to have to get used to Ivanka's presence-- it was planned since her father's campaign.

Merkel met with President Donald Trump for to discuss foreign relations between Germany and the U.S., while Ivanka sat in and discussed workforce development with the chancellor. The Associated Press reports that Ivanka did not just crash the meeting-- she recruited executives and guided the discussion.

Ivanka's presence at meetings with world leaders has infuriated some who feel that the president's daughter has no right to be there. She's not an elected official, and her only qualifications are that of a business woman (who harsh critics even believe simply built on the success of her family name, rather than her own merits). They compare Ivanka to Chelsea Clinton.

"Imagine if Hillary Clinton met with Merkel and Chelsea Clinton was seated next to her for an official meeting," said Senior Analyst at Whitman Insight Strategies, Matt McDermott, in a tweet. "You can't. It's unimaginable."

It's funny that critics should be comparing the situation with Ivanka to the Clintons. When Hillary Clinton became the nation's first 'working first lady', she got the same kind of criticism. When President Bill Clinton appointed his own wife to a key position of power in his administration, it had been unimaginable. Clinton was paving the way for such White House nepotism.

People are forgetting that Ivanka was recruited by her father to play a key role in her administration. She stepped down from her business ventures and put them into a blind trust. She and her husband moved to Washington, and the first daughter even has her own office in the West Wing. She's not just visiting her father and jumping into important meetings, it was planned for her to have an official role all along.

People unhappy with Ivanka better get used to it; she's there to stay.
