Pelosi Planted This Woman At Her Town Hall Event To Ask Her A Question - That Backfired

Rep. Nancy Pelosi held a town hall event on CNN recently to answer questions by concerned citizens. Unfortunately, some of the concerned citizens who were planted in the audience couldn't get out the questions the organizers gave them as planned. Pelosi appeared worried a couple of times when the meeting derailed from the script.

The event was billed as a chance for 'ordinary Americans' to voice their concerns to the Washington leader. A Muslim woman appeared to have been planted in the audience to report to Pelosi that she was a victim of President Donald Trump's temporary travel ban because her mother's plans to come to America as a refugee had been postponed.

She then attempted to ask Pelosi a question written out for her on her phone, but the woman stumbled on it and was unable to read the words without repeated mistakes.

Pelosi attempted to offer excuses and told the audience she wasn't expecting the question. She then pontificated on how everyone from Abraham Lincoln to the Statue of Liberty were weeping because of 'what they [Republicans] have done.' After bashing the president, Pelosi apologized to the woman for her family's inconvenience.

In another question, a man asked a question he was specifically told not to ask about capitalism. Pelosi had to think on her feet to cobble together an answer that would satisfy her liberal constituency (progressives less and less in favor of capitalism) while not offending and concerning the many business owners and entrepreneurs.

Pelosi pointed out that America is a capitalist society, but she had a spokesperson later backpedal by saying her statement 'was an indictment of shareholder capitalism and how it's falling short.'

A news report from the Huffington Post claims that the questioner, Trevor Hill, had wanted to ask the question about capitalism from the start, but that CNN moderators told him not to. Instead, they told the gay man to pose a 'personal' question to Pelosi.

By the representative's reaction, she was clearly taken aback each time the night seemed to veer off the plan.
