Obama Slammed For Breaking Bread With Monarchy Linked to 9/11 Attacks

New evidence of Saudi Arabia’s connections to the 9/11 attacks on the United States cast a shadow over President Obama’s trip to the Middle Eastern kingdom this week.

The president sat down with the country’s dictator to coordinate U.S. and Saudi efforts to thwart ISIS and other terrorist groups. The leaders also discussed the threat posed by Iran, one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest enemies.

According to the Daily Mail, the meeting was “uncomfortable” because of a report concerning Ghassan Al-Sharbi, an alleged bomb maker for al-Qaeda. Authorities said they found the man’s flight certificate inside an envelope mailed from the Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C., in 2002. Investigators believe Al-Sharbi received pilot lessons before 9/11, but was not among those who flew planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

A recent congressional report also indicated Saudi Arabia’s possible involvement with 9/11. The document is classified, but many people are urging the Obama administration to make it public. Most of the hijackers involved in the attacks were Saudi citizens.

According to activist Brian McGlinchey, “the envelope points to the fundamental question hanging over us today: To what extent was the 9/11 plot facilitated by individuals at the highest levels of the Saudi government?”
