Obama On Political Correctness: ‘Don’t Go Around Just Looking For Insults’

The topic of political correctness was a hot button issue on the campaign trail, and the discussion isn’t dying down now that the election is in the books. As MSN shares, President Obama recently offered up his take on the issue.

He acknowledges that his own party may lean a little too heavily on affirmative action issues to get their point across.

“If somebody says, 'You know what, I'm not sure affirmative action is the right way to solve racial problems in this country,' and they're immediately accused of being racist, well, then I think you have a point," he says.

President-elect Trump made a huge issue of the fact that he feels we spend far too much time walking around on eggshells, and the president has some sound advice on how we might all be able to come together in a common sense way.

"My advice to progressives like myself, and this is advice I give my own daughters ... is don't go around just looking for insults. You're tough. If somebody says something you don't agree with, just engage them on their ideas. But you don't have to feel that somehow because you're a black woman that you're being assaulted," he continued.
