NRA Leader Accuses Clinton Of Planning ‘Evil Gun-Ban Tricks’

If Hillary Clinton becomes president, she will try to deny Americans their constitutional right to bear arms, the National Rifle Association’s Wayne LaPierre warned this month in the organization’s newsletter.

“In short, there’s nothing under Hillary’s ‘common-sense’ bag of evil gun-ban tricks that she won’t attempt if she takes the White House,” the NRA vice president wrote.

LaPierre was just one of several NRA officials who expressed their concerns in the newsletter, “American Rifleman,” about the future of the Second Amendment under a Clinton administration. They urged their members to vote for Republican candidate Donald Trump, who has promised to uphold gun rights if he wins the election in November. The Hill pointed out that the billionaire real-estate developer was a gun-control advocate in the past.

The NRA leaders predicted that Clinton would appoint Supreme Court justices who are hostile to the Second Amendment. “We’ve got to get together. It’s time to unite,” wrote Chris Cox, executive director of political action for the organization.

Reaching out to supporters of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and other Republicans who competed for the party’s nomination, Cox continued: “If your preferred candidate dropped out of the race, it’s time to get over it. Now, were there differences between the candidates for the nomination? Of course. Were there valid arguments in favor of some over others? Sure. Will any of it matter if Hillary Clinton wins in November? Not one bit.”
