North Carolina Man's Dying Wish: Don't Vote For Hillary

Yet another blow to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential attempt, was the dying wish of an 81-year-old man in North Carolina. He used his memorial to make one final political stand, which has actually been quite impactful in the community.

Larry Darrell Upright’s obituary, which was published by the Concord-Kannapolis Independent Tribune this past Friday, was traditional in the sense that it listed his involvement with the community, accomplishments and work; yet, there was also an unusual request by the family. They asked that Upright be memorialized when the community go to submit their vote to the local ballot box. There are quite a few who have enjoyed the sense of humor shown by Upright and his family.

According to the obituary, “In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children.” In addition, it stated, “Also, the family respectfully asks that you do not vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016. R.I.P. Granddaddy.” The political wish of Upright – or his family members responsible for publishing the obituary – has been greeted with quite a bit of support from the entire online community, as well as their friends.

Most stated that they can appreciate the humor in Upright’s statement. Several people in the community have already published comments on the Whitley’s Funeral Home website and NBC12 that they will not cast a vote for Clinton in 2016. One of the commented pledges read, "we would not vote for Hillary if she was the only one running."
