New Insider Tell-All Highlights Some Of Trump's More Memorable Closed-Door Rants

As President Donald Trump has demonstrated a countless number of times, he’s quite the silver-tongued devil. And that’s just the persona that the public gets to see. While we’ve all seen Trump deliver some memorable remarks at rally-style events - not to mention his countless number of rants on social media - a new tell-all book from Trump insiders says that’s nothing compared to what he says behind closed doors.

As Yahoo shares, “Let Trump Be Trump” is a joint effort from Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, and aide David Bossie. While both men remain advocates of Trump and defend him staunchly during media appearances, that’s not preventing them from casting light on the president’s darker side. For example, they recall one of his more memorable rants that was directed at campaign manager Paul Manafort.

“Did you say I shouldn’t be on TV on Sunday? I’ll go on TV anytime I g–dam f—ing want and you won’t say another f—ing word about me!” Trump exclaimed. “Tone it down? I wanna turn it up! . . . You’re a political pro? Let me tell you something. I’m a pro at life. I’ve been around a time or two. I know guys like you, with your hair and skin...”

Another rant was directed at RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, who had called for Trump to drop out of the race.

“First of all. I’m going to win,” Trump told him. “And second, if the Republican Party is going to run away from me, then I will take you all down with me. But I’m not going to lose.”

Trump proved to be quite prescient with that call, and Priebus would go no to serve as his Chief of Staff for several months before resigning. The pair notes that no one is really immune to Trump’s wrath when the waters get particularly choppy.

“Sooner or later, everybody who works for Donald Trump will see a side of him that makes you wonder why you took a job with him in the first place,” they write in the book. “His wrath is never intended as any personal offense, but sometimes it can be hard not to take it that way. The mode that he switches into when things aren’t going his way can feel like an all-out assault.”

Beyond the commander-in-chief’s temperament behind closed doors, Lewandowski and Bossie shared some other interesting tidbits from life on the trail with Trump.

“On Trump Force One there were four major food groups: McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza and Diet Coke,” they wrote.

Trump’s predilection for certain fast food items has been well-documented, and the pair shared the contents of one memorable Trump dinner: “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted.”

It’s some interesting perspective from the Trump insiders, who acknowledge that they occasionally felt like they wanted to “parachute out of Trump Force One,” but there’s no word on whether POTUS agrees with that sentiment or not. If the pair stops defending Trump at every turn, we’re going to go out on a limb and assume Trump wasn’t all that pleased with their revealing book.
