Netanyahu Hits High Notes In Address To Congress

Despite going against protocol, House Speaker Boehner's invite to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was welcomed with open arms by the GOP-controlled Congress. Even critics could not stop this train.

Nonetheless, President Obama did feel the speech was lacking in concrete deliverables. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. felt insulted by the speech, saying she was "near tears" throughout it. Not to mention, 50 Democrats decided not to attend. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn,. said the speech was "harmful because, I think, the game is in Geneva — not in Washington and on television. It would have been better if he took his concerns directly to the president and the State Department, behind the scenes, and tried to get a better deal."

On the other hand, former Governor Jeb Bush said he was "Glad he addressed Congress & detailed the dangers a nuclear Iran poses. Their nuclear program must be stopped." Another potential 2016 Presidential candidate, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said he was "pleased to hear Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech to Congress today, and join him in calling for peace and standing together for our mutual interests. It is important to work together to prevent a nuclear Iran, and the spread of radical Islam." Regardless of the no-shows, the work must go on.
