Mike Rowe Has Perfect Response After Guy Accuses Him Of Being A White Nationalist

Trolls are out there on the interwebs, and it doesn’t really matter what platform we’re talking about. If there’s a place where comments or dialogue is shared, trolls will find it. They’ll proceed to add absolutely nothing of substance, but they will do their best to get a rise out of others. By now, most people know to simply ignore them, as an unfed troll will move elsewhere in their desperate bid for attention. However, there are times when a takedown of a troll is well warranted. A troll specifically attempting to cause harm to a person’s reputation or branding falls into that category.

As The Daily Caller shares, “Dirty Jobs” host Mike Rowe found himself in that situation recently. A commenter on social media made a ridiculous assertion that Rowe’s advocacy of the skilled trades makes him a racist and a white nationalist.

“One of the tenants [sic] of white nationalism is that college educated people are academic elitests [sic]. Comment? No? I’m not surprised. You never take a political stand because you don’t want to alienate anybody,” the poster wrote. “Its bad for business. I get it. But there is a current of anti intellectualism [sic] in this country — promoted by Republicans. Those people love you, and they think your initiative is their initiative. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is kickin [sic] our a-- academically.”

Rowe decided to confront the grammatically-challenged poster head on. While doing so, he completely destroyed the poster's warped attempt at impacting Rowe’s reputation.

“Since we’re being candid, allow me to say how much I dislike your post. Everything about it annoys me — your smug and snarky tone, your appalling grammar, your complete lack of evidence to support your claims, and of course, the overarching logical fallacy that informs your entire position,” Rowe wrote.

He would go on to point out in grave detail what the poster was attempting to do - albeit unsuccessfully.

“Very clever. Without offering a shred of evidence, you’ve implied that Republicans who support mikeroweWORKS do so because they believe I share their disdain for all things ‘intellectual,’” he continued.

This was not just a small response to throw shade back in the troll’s direction, but rather an epically crafted post that completely destroyed any semblance of credibility the troll may have had.

“There’s not much we can do about the news, but here on Facebook, I think we can do better. This isn’t Twitter,” Rowe added. “We’re not limited to a few inflammatory sentences and a flurry of emojis. Take a moment, Chuck. Think. Make a rational argument. Otherwise, just link us to a cat video. People love those, and they’re almost never ‘bad for business.’ (Unless of course, the cat gets hurt. People hate that.) Just don’t assume that people will care about your beliefs, if you’re not willing to back them up with some relevant facts and a rational conclusion.”

Mic drop - but Rowe wasn’t done.

“To quote Thomas Jefferson, (while I still can,) ‘If a nation expects to be ignorant and free and live in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.’ On this point, my foundation does not equivocate,” he added.

Game, set, and match goes to Rowe in a rout - but it’s incredibly unfortunate that he even had to waste his own mental capital to begin with.
