Mike Huckabee Claims Trump Supporters Are Being Subjected To Terrorism From Left

Last week’s horrifying shooting incident in Alexandria, Virginia served as a gigantic wake-up call for many. While it was already crystal clear that our nation was far too divided on too many issues, the shooting served as a massive red flag that screamed out we may be more divided than we realized. There are plenty of fingers to point on why that’s the case, and we need to look no further than a ton of random incidents that have occurred during the course of everyday life for confirmation.

As Fox News Insider shares, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee feels that it’s gotten so bad out there for supporters of President Donald Trump that it amounts to ‘terrorism.’ While that sounds a bit too hyperbolic, Huckabee came equipped with plenty of evidence to bolster his case.

"A lot of people are getting the heck beat out of them because they are wearing a Trump shirt," Huckabee said. "Sometimes it's more subtle."

Huckabee told the story of a N.J. high school student that had his Trump t-shirt photoshopped out of the yearbook. That incident sparked a ton of outrage and captured national intention. After the school looked into what happened, the teacher that was in charge of the yearbook committee was suspended.

"Think about what this is doing," Huckabee continued. "This is bullying, it's terrorism."

The t-shirt incident was definitely unnecessary and uncalled for, as it was a clear case of the wishes of an aggrieved person or persons being forced onto others. There’s no need for that in any civilized society, and the person responsible will now have to answer for their actions. Chances are, their attempt at a ‘statement’ will suddenly look awfully silly now that they realize the problems they have caused for themselves and their school.

"Because, when you scare people from wearing a shirt they want to wear....when they are scared to do it because they are afraid they are going to have the daylights knocked out of them by some radical leftist, then they have succeeded in changing the behavior of people in a free society," Huckabee added.

Fair point, but terrorism is still a little too extreme. That’s another example of the rhetoric going too far, and Huckabee needs to dial it down a little bit. While James Hodgkinson, the Alexandria shooter, was an adult that was responsible for his own actions, there is proof that he became even more inflamed due to political rhetoric.

So what’s the solution? Quite simply, everyone from the president to politicians, from members of the media to political pundits, from close political observers to detached voters can do their part to help keep things in line. Similar to when you suspect terrorism, when you see something, say something. If people are called out more for going too far over the top, perhaps they’ll learn to dial it back several notches. In the meantime, we can all hold ourselves accountable by taking some deep breaths and realizing that we can all work through our differences without such inflammatory language.
