Melania Trump Introduces New Members Of Team FLOTUS

First Lady Melania Trump doesn’t receive anywhere near the attention that President Donald Trump does. If some reports are to be taken verbatim, we’re going to assume that suits her just fine.

Outside of the things about her happiness and whatnot that are floating around the rumor mill on a daily basis, there’s scant attention given to the First Lady unless she just so happens to be at the side of her husband.

As such, there are questions about exactly what it is the First Lady does on a daily basis. While her predecessor, Michelle Obama, seemed to be always doing something on a jam-packed schedule, Melania doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as active.

But is that really the case? Not exactly.

While the press is completely consumed with any and all actions of Trump, FLOTUS is permitted to fly under the radar and do her thing.

As a result, there are plenty of things that the First Lady tends to that just so happen to fly under the radar. For example, big changes are afoot amongst her staff, but there’s nary a peep being said about that as the press trips over itself to interpret the president’s latest remarks, posts, and actions.

As AOL shares, the office of the First Lady even took the time to offer up a statement explaining the changes that have happened.

"I am very excited to add these quality professionals to my already stellar team," the statement read in part. "Each person filling their respective and vital role has shown true professionalism in their chosen career, and I am confident they will enhance my work on behalf of children everywhere, while helping me further expand my role as First Lady of the United States."

Reagan Thompson, who previously served as a staffer for the National Security Council, is climbing on board as director of policy. Thompson will be tasked with overseeing Melania’s "policies and initiatives."

Among those that the First lady has zeroed in on thus far are child bullying and the opioid crisis, but it’s unclear if there are any additional plans in the works.

Justin Caporale, a veteran of the president’s campaign, has signed on as director of operations for the First Lady’s office, and he will manage daily logistics, focus on events and plan foreign travel. Annie LeHardy is shifting from her role in the West Wing press office to serve as communications coordinator for the First Lady.

So are these moves a sign that Melania has plans to take a much more active role moving forward? That’s unclear, but there’s a good chance her actions will fly under the radar either way.

Her husband completely dominates the news cycle, and every day seems to be an adventure. The world of political news has been upended a countless number of times since Trump took office, and it can happen in a heartbeat any day based on something he simply says or posts.

The rumor mill has long suggested that the First Lady isn’t all that pleased with the fact that her husband actually won the election, but her office has offered up repeated denials of that assertion.

On the bright side, she doesn’t have to be bothered by a ton of coverage of her every footstep. Her husband has apparently given the press all that it can collectively handle since entering office.
