Meghan McCain Prefers Trump To Clinton, But Won’t Vote For Him

Despite Donald Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric that many people consider insulting and divisive, the Republican presidential nominee is a better choice in November’s general election than Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, according to the daughter of Arizona Sen. John McCain.

“When Donald Trump says things, it offends people sometimes and it can be controversial, but when Hillary makes mistakes, people die,” Meghan McCain said Friday during an appearance on Fox News. To illustrate her point, the conservative commentator noted that some of the emails in Clinton’s private server during her tenure as secretary of state contained the name of a nuclear scientist who was a U.S. ally. Iranian officials recently executed the man, The Hill reported.

“Why aren’t we talking about this; talking about the fact that she put our national security at risk?” McCain asked. “It’s so egregious. This is real-life information about our CIA informants being murdered, and it’s getting no coverage, except on this channel.” She announced that neither Trump nor Clinton will get her vote.

McCain’s father, the veteran GOP lawmaker who frequently leads the charge in Congress in advocating a strong military, is a prominent foreign-policy “hawk.” He often joins South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and other hard-line members of his party in pushing for U.S. intervention in other countries.

The senator, who was a prisoner of war in North Vietnam for five years, has had a rocky relationship with Trump. Last year, the billionaire businessman declared that McCain is “not a war hero” because “he was captured.” Trump initially refused to endorse McCain’s re-election bid.
