Mark Cuban Slams Trump: Too Clueless To Collude With Russia
Billionaire Mark Cuban, owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and 'Shark Tank' reality star, has been critical of fellow billionaire/reality star, President Donald J. Trump, throughout the election. Despite some harsh words he's had for Trump in the past, Cuban doesn't believe the president colluded with Russians to win the election. It's not a compliment, though; Cuban just doesn't think Mr. Trump has the brains to pull off such a conspiracy.
In a long series of numbered Tweets sent out on April 1, Cuban offered his 'take on Trump and Russia'.
According to Cuban, Trump has made a lot of money from Russians from his real estate dealings and beauty pageant. "That makes them his friends," Cuban explained, "...He ignored their backgrounds. But that's not unusual. Starbucks takes anyone's money and so do most businesses including mine."
Cuban believes Mr. Trump praised Russian President Vladimir Putin during the election because he was hoping to get high Russian approval, which would have led to Trump making 'easy money' from Russians after the election was over.
"When [Paul Manafort was recommended, he didn't vett him. He saw it as a win-win. Win the election or open the door for more Russian business," said Cuban in Tweet number five, then explained in number six and seven, "As people with Russian connects came into the campaign he had no clue that those connections were possibly being influenced by Russia His lean campaign took direction from people he trusted and he followed those directions. He had no clue where the Russians fit."
Bannon later took over and 'took it to the next level', Cuban says. "No chance this is a [Trump] led conspiracy. He isn't detail oriented, organized or big picture enough to pull off any kind of conspiracy.
Cuban goes on for a few more tweets explaining that the POTUS was clueless and being used by Putin and his aides.
Cuban’s theory is just one among many about what, if any, involvement Russia might have had in the 2016 U.S. election.
