Marco Rubio's Team Accuses Ted Cruz's Campaign of Altering Video

Marco Rubio’s communication’s director Alex Conant says Ted Cruz's campaign is employing more "dirty campaign tricks."

The Cruz campaign loaded a video of Rubio allegedly stating the Bible isn't filled with many answers--although, Rubio actually said the opposite. Cruz's communications director, Rick Taylor, then shared a story around the video. The video is 21 seconds, it shows Rubio walking through a hotel lobby surrounded by staffers and nodding to a Cruz staffer and Cruz's father, Rafael, sitting at a table. Rubio notices their Bible and says, “Got a good book there. All of the answers are in there, especially in that one.”

Conant also tweeted a video with the correct transcript. The Daily Pennsylvanian blog and The Right Scoop first reported the incorrect version of Rubio's comments.

Tyler posted an apology to his Facebook page writing, “I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today. Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct. I’ve deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake.”
