Malia Obama Caught Doing This At A NYC Party

The former First Daughter is out of the White House, and out and about in New York City, rubbing shoulders with the stars. Malia Obama, who aspires to a career in film, was spotted with the cast of 'Girls' at a big celebrity bash. The comedy show features four young women in their 20's living in the Big Apple.

Malia was an intern on the HBO series in 2015, and on Thursday night she went to Cipriani to attend an HBO-hosted party celebrating the premier of the show's final season. Malia wasn't on the red carpet with the cast and crew, but she did make a surprise appearance at the after party.

The entire 'Girls' cast, along with Rita Wilson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann were in attendance. Lena Dunham, the show's creator, was, of course, also in attendance. Guests were delighted by Malia's appearance and she quickly became the center of attention.

The former president's oldest daughter has been very career-focused. She's in New York City this year to work in the Weinstein Company, a small but prestigious NY-based film studio. She's reading scripts for the company for $9 an hour.

Malia was photographed last Monday on her first day of work. She was also seen heading out that day with one of her co-workers to pick up some lunch at Whole Foods.

Her outfit — high-waisted jeans, crop top, sheepskin coat and boots — have gotten big thumbs up across social media.

Malia is still college-bound; in fact, she's been accepted to her father's alma mater: Harvard. But the young woman decided to take a gap year between high school and college. No doubt, after life in the White House, some decompression time sounded like a good idea. She's slated to start in the ivy league in the fall.

Her parents, the former POTUS and First Lady, will continue residing in Washington D.C. for a couple of years, at least until Malia's younger sister, Sasha, finishes high school.
