Lindsey Graham Asks Trump: Do You Have Evidence Of Voter Fraud?

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham on Tuesday challenged Donald Trump to prove his allegation that millions of people cast ballots illegally in the presidential election.

“I don’t know what he is talking about,” Graham declared in an interview with The Huffington Post. “If he has evidence, bring it forward. If he doesn’t, he shouldn’t say things like that.”

The Republican lawmaker pledged to introduce a Senate resolution confirming the results of the Nov. 8 vote. “I want people to believe — at least, the Senate be on record — that we believe the election is fair,” he explained. “I’m sure there was problems, but it was free and fair.”

HuffPost, as well as other media sources and fact-checking organizations, labeled Trump’s allegation of widespread voter fraud “false.” So far, the president-elect has not provided any information to support his argument that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by nearly 2.5 million ballots because of unlawful activity. Officials in California, Virginia and New Hampshire have denied Trump’s claim of “serious voter fraud” in the states, all of which Clinton won.

Graham expressed hope that as president, Trump will control his habit of using Twitter to lash out at his adversaries and make outrageous statements. “He’s gotta realize he’s just not a normal person anymore,” the senator said. “He’s not a billionaire TV star — he’s the president of the United States. His words really resonate.”
