Kasich Campaign Produces Anti-Trump Web Ad

Former Republican presidential candidate John Kasich ridiculed his party’s nominee in an Internet commercial a week before the election, The Washington Post reported.

The advertisement showed Tom Moe, a former prisoner of war in Vietnam who retired from the U.S. Air Force as a colonel, calling on voters to reject Donald Trump. Paraphrasing the Rev. Martin Niemoller’s famous warning following World War II, Moe told the crowd at a campaign event:

“You might not care if Donald Trump says Muslims should register with their government, because you’re not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says he's going to round up all the Hispanic immigrants, because you’re not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says it’s OK to rough up black protesters, because you’re not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump wants to suppress journalists, because you’re not one. But think about this. If he keeps going, and he actually becomes president, he might just get around to you; and you better hope there’s someone left to help you.”

The day before the commercial appeared, the Kasich campaign and his super PAC unveiled two other advertisements targeting Trump. The Ohio governor has been an outspoken critic of the real-estate mogul, calling him unqualified for the presidency.

Trump recently tweeted: “Going to Ohio, home of one of the worst presidential candidates in history -- Kasich. Can’t debate, loves Obamacare -- dummy!” The governor fired back on Twitter: “A bully never expects anyone to fight back, and tonight you saw what happens when we did.”
