Judge Sparks Outrage After Wearing This Hat On The Job

A Texas County Judge decided to wear a pink “pussy hat” to make her political feelings clear to all in a recent meeting.

Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt put on the now famous pink “vagina hat” made popular by the recent anti-Trump feminist march in Washington DC during a commissioner’s court meeting in Austin, according to local media sources.

“Get my cat ears going here,” she commented as she made a show of pulling on and adjusting the cute pink hat.

A number of sources report Eckhardt was wearing the pink hat “in honor of our Abortion is Healthcare Resolution.”

It should be pointed out that Eckhardt’s role as a county judge in Texas is very different from a typical criminal judge. A local TV station in liberal bastion Austin explains why showing your political opinion as a “judge” was not really a big deal:

“In Travis County, the “County Judge” position is an elected role. The winner of the election oversees the commissioners court and is in many ways a commissioner themselves. Similar to a City Council and mayor relationship, the County Judge acts as the head of the Commissioners and county government. KVUE’s Jason Puckett reached out to multiple county departments to verify that this behavior was acceptable and found that almost every source he spoke with agreed – Eckhardt is in the clear.”

Despite this pretty straightforward explanation for a “judge” wearing a pink pussy hat in court, the social media sphere was full of angry posters on the subject.

One Twitter user noted: “[C]ould you expect to have a fair trial especially as a man if you saw this?”

Another said: ”Opening the door for all kinds of chaos. This woman is showing very poor judgement. Who supervises her?”

A woman tweeted: “So, I've done jury duty & was given strict dress rules but it's okay for a female judge to wear a pussy? Missed something...”
