Jeb Bush Wants To Give 11 Million Illegal Immigrants Chance To Contribute

Under certain conditions, Jeb Bush, the former Governor of Florida stated that 11 million immigrants that are in the country illegally should be given the opportunity to stay put; this has further opened up the continuing immigrant debate going on in the Republican party.

Overhauling the immigration system in the US is much more than just strengthening the border, according to Bush, who was referring to the 11 million people who need to be given legal status to pay taxes, work and not be given government handouts.

In recent years, the Republican Party has struggled to win over the growing Hispanic population in the U.S. Not since his brother, George W. Bush was reelected in 2004 has a presidential candidate earned up to 40 percent of the Hispanic vote.

During his recent appearance at the National Christian Hispanic Leadership Conference, Jeb Bush once again addressed this issue. Bush has been spending quite a bit of time reaching out to Hispanic audiences. Bush has deep roots in the Hispanic community, with his wife being Hispanic. It was the influence of his wife that encouraged Bush to earn a Latin American studies degree and then spend two years in Venezuela.

According to Bush, the entire economy of the nation relies on restructuring the immigration system. “This country does not do well when people lurk in the shadows,” according to Bush, which is why immigration reform is necessary.
