Jared Kushner Woere A Blazer Under His Flak Jacket - Waves Of Ridicule Ensue

Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Trump, is struggling hard to be taken seriously as a presidential advisor. Many have complained about the 36-year-old, who has no political experience, for having role in the White House at all, and the husband of Ivanka Trump has been struggling to prove himself. A recent photo that surfaced is not helping.

Social media is mocking Kushner for a photo that features him wearing designer sunglasses, a snappy sportscoat, and a flak jacket (military vest) on top of it. It's not exactly a fashion statement, and the internet has been rolling over it.

Kushner, a former real estate executive, has been appointed Senior White House Advisor of the Middle East peace process. Kushner was “traveling on behalf of the President to express the President’s support and commitment to the government of Iraq and U.S. personnel currently engaged in the campaign," said a military spokesperson.

On Thursday, the photo from his recent trip to Iraq to visit the troops started making the rounds. It's not exactly helping Kushner's image. Surrounded by a group of military men in fatigues, in the middle of the dry, dusty Iraqi landscape, Kushner stands out like Dapper Dan playing with a G.I. Joe costume.

“Jared Kushner wearing his shirt and suit with his khaki bulletproof vest looks like a rich kid on an expensive paintball weekend,” joked Twitter user Ashles3000.

"Wearing a blazer in Iraq is the most Jared Kushner thing Jared Kushner has ever done," tweeted David Q.

Some are comparing Kushner to Buster Bluth, a character on the dark comedy 'Arrested Development' who tried to run away from his wealthy, dysfunctional family by playing army.

The photo is reminiscent of Michael Dukakis, 1988 Democratic presidential candidate, when he took a trip overseas to meet with the military. He donned a helmet, which didn't exactly match the suit and tie, and got to ride in a M1A1 Abrams tank. A photo of Dukakis doing a cheesy point and wink at a camera was ridiculed; he looked like a Ken doll with a new accessory pack.
