Ivanka's Mother Says Trump Tried To Set Daughter Up With NFL Star

Ivana Trump, the first wife of President Donald Trump and mother of his children Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka, has released a new memoir about raising the Trump family. In it, Ivana recalls the time when the now-POTUS tried to play matchmaker and set Ivanka up with New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady. Ivanka apparently wasn't interested.

President Trump's friendship with Tom Brady is well known. Brady, Patriots' owner Robert Kraft and Coach Bill Belichick have all counted themselves as Trump's good friends. Trump has had nothing but praise for the NFL team, though the men have avoided mixing sports and politics.

They often decline to comment when questioned about Trump's job performance.

Apparently, Trump has loved Brady for quite a while. His ex-wife Ivana says that Trump even once tried to fix Brady up with Ivanka, his eldest daughter who is now his White House aide.

The 68-year-old mother recalls in her book, "At one point, Donald wanted her to date Tom Brady, the quarterback..." He said, "You have to meet him!' But Ivanka wasn't into it."

Brady might have not been into it either. Or at least, it might have been a bit embarrassing. According to former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, Brady may have skipped the post-Super Bowl White House visit with his team mates due to his history with Ivanka.

Scaramucci even suggested it might have been due to Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen, asking him to sit it out because she might be jealous.

"There could be a little bit of jealousy there and protection and possession of Tom Brady, and she probably didn't want him to go," Scaramucci said to TMZ.

Considering Bunchen is a super model, that's a bit of a stretch. More likely it was part of an attempt on Brady to distance himself from the president. He’s desperately tried to remain somewhat politically neutral in an attempt to not offend his fan base.

"Why does that make such a big deal?" Brady once said. "If you know someone, it doesn't mean that you agree with everything that they say or do, right?"

Ivanka, of course, went on to marry Jared Kushner in 2009 and the couple had three children together. Kushner is also working as Trump's aide in the White House, and the couple moved to Washington D.C. when her father was elected.

Ivana has revealed a lot in her book about all of her children and their relationships with their father. According to Ivana, after Trump cheated on her and divorced her, Donald Jr. didn't talk to his father for a year.

Ivana and Donald Trump got married back in 1977, when Trump was focused on the real estate business. The two split up in 1992 after Trump began having an affair with the woman who would become his second wife, Marla Maples.

The mother also holds high hopes for her own children, noting that Ivanka may follow in her father's footsteps. "Maybe in fifteen years, she could run for president?" she writes about Ivanka.
