Ivanka Posts Slideshow Commemorating Dad's Election - Then Social Media Responds

Ivanka Trump certainly knows how to cause a stir on social media. Actually, all she has to do is post something - and then the stir is soon to follow. We would assume that she’s well aware of this fact by now, but that hasn’t impacted her desire to share.

She recently hopped on social media to share a slideshow to commemorate her father’s stunning election victory over Hillary Clinton last year. Unsurprisingly, her post sparked a ton of reaction.

As Inquisitr shares, Ivanka shared a number of photos to honor President Donald Trump’s big win, and she included a simple caption to let the world know she was feeling awfully proud.

“It’s been an incredible year. I’m as proud of my father’s commitment to and passion for our great country today as I was exactly a year ago!” she wrote.

Her post would inspire a slew of responses. As with all things Trump-related on social media, reaction was decidedly mixed. There were messages of support, outright condemnation of what she had to say, and a whole lot of snark every which way you looked.

“God doesn't listen to fake Christians like you who support hateful evil racism, lying , assaulting women and children , banning immigrants and refugees and gunning down people!” shared one user.

“Wishful of more successful achievements in all aspects of developments under your dynamic visionary leadership in upcoming years too,” wrote one commenter.

Also unsurprisingly, the commentary would devolve into a bunch of partisan talking points.

“Why is it that the people who think our 'freedom to own guns' is absolute and inflexible are always the first ones to attack our other freedoms -- of speech, of assembly, of worship (a religion other than their own), of privacy -- in the name of national security?” wrote one user.

That was slightly offset by those that were quite pleased with what Ivanka had to share.

“Trump family = First family your dad is such an incredible person and so are you. Looking forward to seeing what the future brings you!!” posted one commenter.

This is not Ivanka’s first rodeo on social media, so you would have to imagine she knew her post would spark a healthy debate. Was that her intent? Has she been trolling the world of social media all along as she sits back and laughs at all the unnecessary sniping that goes on back and forth?

Probably not, but it’s an amusing thought to ponder next time you see folks getting so worked up over something that’s simply being shared.

While social media helps to bring folks together in ways that we never imagined, it’s also something that has helped to increase the divide in a number of cases. It’s far too easy for keyboard heroes to go off from the anonymity afforded by being behind a screen, and that leads far too many folks to cross the line in a big way.

Now that Trump has been in office for a year, we’ll hope that trend begins to slow down - but we’re not all that optimistic that it will.
