Huckabee Slams Clinton On Immigration

Hillary Clinton is wrong about “a lot of things,” including immigration policy, according to Mike Huckabee.

The former Arkansas governor, who announced Tuesday that he is running for the Republican presidential nomination, blasted Clinton for advocating a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

“You’ve got to have a secure border before you start talking about what you’re going to do,” Huckabee said Wednesday during an MSNBC interview in Iowa. The Hill reported that, when reporter Kasie Hunt asked whether Clinton is wrong about immigration and other issues, he responded: “Oh, on a lot of things, absolutely.”

The former secretary of state declared Tuesday that she would “go even further” on immigration reform by expanding programs that delay deportations. She called for “full and equal” rights for those who meet the requirements to become U.S. citizens.

“If we claim that we are for families, we have to pull together and solve the outstanding issues around our broken immigration system,” Clinton said. “Today, not a single Republican candidate, announced or potential, is clearly or consistently supporting a path to citizenship. When they talk about legal status, that is code for second-class status.”

Huckabee is making his second bid for the White House. In 2008, he lost to GOP nominee John McCain.
