Huckabee Refuses to Back Down From Holocaust Comments

Mike Huckabee will not apologize for comparing the Iran arms agreement with the Holocaust, Newsmax reported.

The former Arkansas governor, who is seeking the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, told Breitbart News on Sunday that the nuclear deal “will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.” He was referring to gas chambers the Nazis used to murder Jews in Germany.

Newsmax pointed out that Huckabee has come under fire not only from Democrats and Jewish organizations, but also some of his fellow Republicans. However, when asked Monday on Fox News Channel’s “The Five” whether he stands by his comment, the candidate replied: “Absolutely I do.”

Huckabee, who said he has been to the former concentration camp in Auschwitz three times, explained: “The last time the world didn't take seriously threats that someone was going to kill massive amounts of Jews we ended up seeing 6 million Jews murdered. The Iranian government has repeatedly said it's going to be easier to take the Jews out because they're all concentrated in Israel. We won't have to go all over the world and hunt them.”

President Obama said Huckabee’s “door of the oven” remark “would be considered ridiculous if it weren't so sad.” Huckabee told Fox News: “I have stood at that oven door. I know exactly what it looks like.”
