Huckabee Cites ‘Hillary Hypocrisy’ Regarding Guns

Hillary Clinton is a hypocrite for accepting Secret Service protection while advocating gun control, according to Mike Huckabee.

The former Arkansas governor and two-time Republican presidential candidate made the allegation on “Fox and Friends,” in reaction to a New York Times article. The newspaper wrote that Donald Trump “once again raised the specter of violence against Hillary Clinton by suggesting Friday that Secret Service agents who guard her voluntarily disarm to ‘see what happens to her’ without their protection.”

Huckabee said the report was “utter nonsense,” then accused Clinton of “the absolute Hillary hypocrisy: Guns for me — good thing; guns for you — bad thing.” He pointed out that “since 1978 she’s be surrounded by people who’ve protected her, not with a notepad, but with guns.”

The ex-governor, a Trump supporter, blasted the former secretary of state for promising to sign executive orders mandating more stringent gun-control measures if she becomes president. “She (believes) the great unwashed should not feel that they have a role in saying what they want in their government,” he said.

Huckabee claimed there is an “enthusiasm gap” between fans of the two major-party candidates. “A Donald Trump rally is like an Aerosmith concert,” he said. “A Hillary rally … is like going to a wake.”
