Huckabee Accuses Reporters Of Favoring Clinton Over Trump

The news media are biased in favor of Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House, according to Mike Huckabee.

The former Arkansas governor, who competed for the Republican presidential nomination, declared during an interview on “Fox and Friends Weekend” that reporters have slammed GOP candidate Donald Trump while praising his Democratic opponent.

“The press has become (Clinton’s) helicopter parents,” Huckabee said. “They are always making sure that she is presented in the best light.” He accused members of the mainstream media of loudly applauding the former secretary of state at a recent news conference. “I’ve done hundreds of press conferences in my life,” the former Baptist preacher told the Fox News hosts. “I don’t ever recall getting applause from the media ever in my life; and sometimes, frankly, by gosh, I should have.”

Huckabee offered a recommendation to Trump: “Focus on the fact that the people of America are hurting, and that Hillary can’t and won’t fix their problems, because she’s helped create them.”

The ex-governor is among many Republicans who are encouraging their nominee to stay on message by slamming Clinton, and concentrating on issues like trade and immigration. GOP leaders are worried that Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric and controversial ideas are dooming the party’s chances of recapturing the White House.
