Hispanic Support For Trump Is Beginning To Swell

The issue of race has been a hot-button issue surrounding the presidential campaign of Republican nominee Donald Trump since the day he announced his candidacy in a lengthy speech at New York City’s Trump Tower.

In that speech, Trump first made mention of his desire to secure the border with Mexico via a large wall, an idea that did not sit too well with many Hispanic voters. However, there’s a growing groundswell of support from a vocal Hispanic minority, and some signs that some of that support will translate into votes this coming November.

As Fox News Latino reports, a recent poll conducted by the news organization reveals that roughly 23 percent of Hispanic voters would have no problem casting their vote for Trump

"I'm not ashamed to vote for Trump. I'd just rather not have the conversation with my family," shared Natalie Lally, a New York City college student with family ties to Colombia.

Trump’s team has also noted the importance of making some headway in the Hispanic community.

"Any demographic that is growing at the rate of the Latino voters obviously will be of the utmost importance to a presidential campaign," said Trump aide Ed Brookover.
