Here’s What Melania Trump Thinks About Meryl Streep And Hollywood

Oscar night is right around the corner, and viewers across the nation just can’t wait to turn in and see what the celebs are wearing and who takes home the top prizes, and they also can’t wait to hear how they should think, feel and act politically. Or not. Awards shows have been consistently trending downwards, and a good portion of that is attributable to the fact that a bevy of celebs feel the need to deliver political soliloquies whenever a microphone is in their face.

The expectation is that the Oscars will be yet another Trump-bashing event, and that topic actually got broached during a recent White House press briefing. As AOL shares, a reporter used her moment in the son to ask press secretary Sean Spicer why so many celebs speak out against President Trump at awards shows, and whether or not the president and First Lady would be tuning in. Seriously. To Spicer’s credit, he didn’t laugh - too much.

"I think Hollywood is known for being rather far to the left in its opinions, and I've got to be honest with you, I think the president will be hosting the Governors' Ball that night," he said.

Far to the left is a pretty accurate assessment, as the general consensus is that any star that just so happens to lean to the right will be essentially blackballed. That unwritten rule doesn’t exactly reek of inclusiveness, but it’s the lay of the land and most celebs tow the line.

"Mrs. Trump looks forward to putting on a phenomenal event. And the first lady's put a lot of time into this event, in welcoming our nation's governors to the capital, and I have a feeling that's where the president and first lady are going to be focused on Sunday night," Spicer continued.

For viewers sake, hopefully there won’t be too many sermons delivered on Sunday night, but the smart money says that there will be a plethora of them.
