Hannity Claims Liberal 'Fascism' Trying To Silence Every Single Conservative Voice

“Liberal fascists” are responsible for allegations of sexual harassment at Fox News, according to Sean Hannity, one of the network’s top-rated hosts.

A former guest on the conservative commentator’s show, Debbie Schlussel, has accused him of asking her to join him at his hotel room following an event at a bookstore in Detroit. The charge came just days after Fox News’ most popular host, Bill O’Reilly, was forced off the air due to sexual-harassment claims against him by several women.

The Hill reported that Hannity, at the beginning of his program Monday night, responded to the growing scandal, which began last year when Fox News chairman Roger Ailes stepped down because of harassment allegations. “I have to start by addressing a well-orchestrated effort by the intolerant left in this country that is designed to silence every conservative voice and by any means necessary,” Hannity said. “Now, I’m speaking out tonight so that you, our audience, will understand what is really happening and what is at stake when it comes to freedom of speech in this country.”

The commentator explained that while others have tried to “smear and slander and besmirch” him over the years, Schlussel’s charges are more “intense and completely insane.” Hannity denied the “outrageous, unfair, untrue allegations,” calling them “ridiculous and completely untrue.” He threatened to employ “some of the finest and toughest lawyers in the country” to file a lawsuit against the former guest.

Hannity pledged to defend himself from attacks rather than “let the left slander against me slide.” He warned that “if there’s any person or group or any organization, any media outlet that slanders, lies about me, besmirch as me and my character, I am going to be calling them out.” He said that “in this fiercely divided and vindictive climate, I will no longer allow slander to go unchallenged, as I see this to be a coordinated effort afoot to silence those with conservative views.”

The commentator claimed “it has only gotten worse in the age of President Trump,” adding: “Now, it’s no secret I have been a supporter of the president and of course his policies. And quite simply, these liberal fascists — they can’t stand conservative voices.”
