Graham Criticizes Obama’s ‘Hands-Off’ Dealings With China

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham on Tuesday accused the Obama administration of being “weak on China and Russia,” Newsmax reported.

The longshot Republican presidential candidate said on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” that the president has failed to confront the two nations’ leaders on various issues “because he wanted them on the deal with Iran.”

The United States has “a hands-off approach to China” despite that country’s disruption of financial markets, according to Graham.

“China manipulates the currency, which creates a discount for Chinese-made products,” he said. “They’re building over resource-rich waters claimed by neighbors. America is doing nothing about it. … They have state-run industries. They manipulate currency to cheat us out of job-market share. What you see in China is a poorly run dictatorship on the verge of collapse.”

Graham also had harsh words for Donald Trump, one his rivals for the GOP presidential nomination. He called the real-estate tycoon’s proposal to deport undocumented immigrants’ children “stupid” and “illegal.”

“I'm not that good a lawyer, but if you go in and try American children born here, citizens, and deport them because their parents are illegal, you’ll get creamed in court,” Graham told Fox News viewers.

Known as one of the leading military hawks in Congress, the veteran senator trails most of the other 16 Republican White House hopefuls in national polls.
