GOP Presidential Candidates Blast Obamacare Ruling

Many of the Republicans running for president vow to continue fighting for the repeal of Obamacare, despite the Supreme Court’s ruling this week, Newsmax reported.

The justices voted 6-3 in favor of the Obama administration in a case involving whether residents of states that do not have health-care exchanges may instead get insurance subsidies through the federal system. Had the decision gone the other way, an estimated 6.4 million Americans could have lost their coverage.

Ben Carson said the ruling “deeply disappointed” him. He pledged to “work even harder (to) repeal and replace Obamacare” because the law “fundamentally increases the power of the government over the people and health-care providers.”

Donald Trump called the Affordable Care Act a “total disaster” and “a horrible thing.” He promised that as president, he would advocate “something far better that would be less expensive and a lot better.”

Jeb Bush declared that “this decision is not the end of the fight against Obamacare.” He argued that the law is “fatally flawed.”

Other GOP candidates who issued statements critical of the court’s ruling included Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Carly Fiorina, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal and Lindsey Graham.
