Giuliani Admits Trump Wants To Ban Immigrants For Being Muslim

President Trump meant to target Muslims, not just refugees, in the immigration-ban executive order he signed last week, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani revealed Saturday night.

According to the Daily Mail, Trump claimed his action was intended to stop terrorists from entering the country. He denied attempting to apply a religious test to immigrants, though his order covered seven predominantly Islamic countries.

Giuliani told Fox News, shortly after a federal judge issued an injunction blocking the ban: “I’ll tell you the whole history of it. When (Trump) first announced it, he said ‘Muslim ban.’ He called me up and said, ‘Put a commission together, show me the right way to do it legally.’ I put a commission together ... what we did was focused on, instead of religion, danger; the areas of the world that create danger for us. Perfectly legal, perfectly sensible.”

When Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro asked why the president did not include Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on the ban list, the ex-mayor explained: “OK, well, I’ll tell you about Saudi Arabia. It is going through a massive change. I think the kingdom, particularly under the new prince, has a real understanding that we’re dealing with a massive radical Islamic terrorism problem.”

Giuliani continued: “It is not the old Saudi Arabia. President Trump is dealing with a very different Saudi Arabia than President Obama was dealing with … a Saudi Arabia that has much closer relationships with Israel and with us. 'Pakistan, I would have to know more about. That troubles me a little bit.”
