Giuliani Accuses Obama of Encouraging ‘Anti-Police’ Feelings

Rudy Giuliani is blaming President Obama and others in his political party for the recent assaults on police officers, Newsmax reported.

The Republican, a former New York City mayor, declared Wednesday that Democrats have “created an anti-police atmosphere” by speaking out against violent acts committed by cops.

Giuliani expressed outrage that mothers of gun-violence victims appeared at the Democratic National Convention. “They never should have done what they did and left out the widows of police officers who died,” he told Fox News. “It’s the police officers who died who prevent thousands and thousands and thousands other blacks from being killed.”

“All you have to do is talk to one of your local Philadelphia police officers like I did walking in this morning,” the ex-mayor said. “They will tell you this is the worst since the Black Panther movement. I said why? They said that it’s clear the president takes their side no matter what’s against us.”

Giuliani argued that officers in Baltimore deserve an apology for having been accused of causing the death of Freddie Gray while the African-American man was in police custody. No cops have been convicted in the case, and a prosecutor announced Wednesday that there will be no more indictments.

“Where do those police officers who just got acquitted go to get their reputation back?” Giuliani asked. “The president of the United States? Where is he on this? He was harsh in condemning it. I don’t see him saying the justice system has worked and they have been found not guilty.”
